OVERGROWN

Ever since Retrograde was first played, I have been on the edge of my seat, waiting for this album to be released. Big Blake fan. HUGE.

I don't even know what to say about it, it's just classic Blake. You can still hear his original style (from his older tracks and the first album) but even more. If that makes sense at all? What I mean to say is he's developed and grown along with his music, but has calmed it down at the same time.

There's a lot of influence from Radiohead, which is never a bad thing in my opinion. But as well as Radiohead, you can see the clear influence that Blake has drawn from Bon Iver, Bjork and Drake, who apparently worked alongside him, throughout the albums production.

Favourites so far, have to be the album title track 'Overgrown', 'To the last' and 'Life round here'.

Music is everyone's personal opinion, what people like, what they don't. But in the end if you like a piece of music, it seduces you in some way. Jon Hadusek from Consequence of Sound even says that 'In addition to having really good hair, James Blake can seduce with his voice.' Good hair and good music, what more could you ask for?
